Hi, I’m Elaine — a qualified counsellor based in Witham, Essex.
Sometimes life can feel heavy, confusing, or difficult to hold on your own. You may be carrying something painful, facing uncertainty or loss, or simply sensing that something in your life doesn’t feel quite right — even if it’s hard to explain.
I support people who are holding things together on the outside, while feeling something very different underneath.
Counselling offers a space to slow down, speak openly, and begin to make sense of what you’re experiencing, at your own pace.
My approach is warm, thoughtful and non-judgemental.
As an integrative counsellor, I draw on a range of therapeutic approaches so that our work can be shaped around you as an individual.
There’s no one-size-fits-all — I aim to meet you where you are and move at a pace that feels right for you.
At the heart of my work is the belief that being truly listened to, without judgement or expectation, can be quietly powerful.
Having a space where you don’t have to carry everything alone can allow understanding, healing and change to unfold over time.
I also offer specialist support for those navigating baby loss, infertility and pregnancy-related experiences.
If you’re considering counselling, you’re welcome to get in touch.
Whether you arrive with something clearly defined or simply a sense that something in your life needs attention, we can begin there.
Baby Loss, Infertility and Pregnancy
Experiences around baby loss, infertility and pregnancy can be deeply personal, complex, and often isolating.
You may be carrying grief that feels difficult to share, anxiety that comes and goes without warning, or a sense that others don’t fully understand what you’re going through.
There may be moments of hope alongside fear, or feelings that seem to conflict with one another.
However this experience has been for you, you don’t have to hold it on your own.
I offer support with:
Baby loss and infant loss
Miscarriage
Infertility and fertility treatment, including IVF
Pregnancy and postnatal experiences
Pregnancy after loss (including rainbow pregnancies)
Ending a pregnancy (abortion)
Inclusive support for women, men, and LGBTQ+ people
You might be:
Struggling to process a loss that still feels very present
Finding it hard to trust or feel connected during pregnancy
Carrying anxiety around scans, milestones, or “what ifs”
Holding feelings of guilt, anger, or isolation
Unsure how to talk about your experience with others
There is no “right” way to feel in any of this.
My role is to offer a space where you can speak openly, without judgement, pressure, or expectation.
We can gently explore whatever is coming up for you — whether that’s grief, uncertainty, numbness, or something that’s hard to put into words. And we can also make space for hope, where it feels possible.
You don’t need to minimise your experience here.
If you feel this is something you’d like support with, you’re very welcome to get in touch.

I am a qualified integrative counsellor, registered member of the BACP, and I hold the following qualifications:
Infertility & Rainbow Baby Specialist
& Advanced Practitioner Certificate

A calm, steady space where you don’t have to have the right words, and things can be explored at your own pace.

We might talk things through, or find other ways to explore what’s going on — especially when things feel hard to put into words

Together, we can begin to make sense of what you’re carrying, and how it’s shaping how you feel, your relationships, and your day-to-day life.
People come to me for help with a wide range of issues. I offer support with:
Anxiety, stress and feeling overwhelmed
Low self-esteem and confidence
Relationship difficulties and life transitions
Grief, loss and bereavement
Trauma and past experiences
Family dynamics and childhood experiences
Addiction and coping behaviours
Health-related concerns and life changes
Specialist support
I also offer specialist support for those navigating:
Baby loss and miscarriage
Infertility and fertility treatment (including IVF)
Pregnancy and postnatal experiences
Pregnancy after loss (including rainbow pregnancies)
Ending a pregnancy (abortion)
These experiences can bring a complex mix of emotions, and you don’t have to hold them on your own. You’re welcome to bring whatever you’re feeling, without judgement or expectation.
I offer sessions from a private therapy room in my garden in Witham, Essex.
This is within easy reach of Wickham Bishops, Maldon, Heybridge, Great Totham, Hatfield Peverel, Nounsley, Terling, Kelvedon, Rivenhall and the surrounding areas.
Online therapy sessions are also available, providing an accessible and flexible option if travelling isn’t possible or doesn’t feel right for you
I currently work with adult individuals (18+). Sessions last 50 minutes, usually take place weekly, and cost £50 per session.
I offer an initial free 20 minute telephone call, which gives us the opportunity to talk about what you’re hoping to bring to therapy and for you to ask any questions you may have.
There is no obligation to continue — it’s simply a chance to see whether working together feels right for you.
If you decide you would like to go ahead, you are welcome to book a session and we can begin exploring what has brought you to counselling at a pace that feels comfortable for you.
I offer both short-term and longer-term therapy, depending on what feels right for you. If you would like to book a block of sessions in advance, I offer a 10% discount when booking six sessions together.
I also have a limited number of concessionary spaces for those on a low income — please contact me if you’d like to discuss this further.
If you’re unsure whether counselling is right for you, you’re very welcome to arrange an initial call and take it from there.

Feel free to contact me if you have any questions about how therapy works, or to arrange an initial assessment appointment. This enables us to discuss the reasons you are thinking of coming to therapy, whether it could be helpful for you and whether I am the right therapist to help.
You can also call me on 07749023002 if you would prefer to leave a message or speak to me first. I am happy to discuss any queries or questions you may have prior to arranging an initial appointment.
All enquires are usually answered within 24 hours, and all contact is strictly confidential and uses secure phone and email services.
